Tosher chassidim around the world have been asked to increase their tefillos for the refuah sheleimah of the Tosher Rebbe, who is scheduled to undergo a planned eye procedure today, Wednesday, at a specialized medical facility in the Fort Lauderdale area of Florida.

The procedure, described as relatively minor, is intended to improve the Rebbe’s eyesight following a period during which he experienced weakness and discomfort affecting his eyes.

The Rebbe, who has been spending recent weeks resting at his residence in Florida, is scheduled to undergo two separate treatments as part of the medical plan recommended by his physicians.

The first procedure is taking place today at a leading ophthalmology clinic near Fort Lauderdale. On Tuesday, the Rebbe visited the medical facility for a series of preliminary examinations and tests in preparation for the treatment.

According to reports, medical specialists who evaluated the Rebbe’s condition recommended a particular procedure that they believe, b’ezras Hashem, will improve his vision and enable him to continue his avodas hakodesh without the discomfort he has recently experienced.

Following the initial procedure, the Rebbe is expected to return to his residence in Fort Lauderdale, where he will remain for rest and recuperation while awaiting the second scheduled treatment.

Once both procedures have been completed and the recovery period has concluded, the Rebbe is expected to return to his home in Kiryas Tosh, Quebec, Canada, where the center of the Tosh chassidus is located.

According to sources, the Rebbe undergoes this type of eye treatment approximately once every 15 years. His father, the previous Tosher Rebbe, zt”l, also underwent similar treatments.
