Lakewood’s Resource and Referral Center has been awarded $422,000 to help residents sign up for health insurance through Get Covered New Jersey, according to data obtained by TLS.
The funding is for Plan Year 2027 under the state’s Navigator Grant Program, which supports free, unbiased help with health-insurance enrollment and renewals. Navigators can also help residents apply for financial assistance.
Open enrollment for 2027 coverage begins November 1, 2026, and runs through January 31, 2027.
Ocean Health Initiatives was awarded $62,000, while Fulfill received $96,000. Statewide, the department awarded $5,171,000 to 33 organizations.
The organizations provide assistance in person and remotely. The statewide Navigator network offers help in more than 10 languages and serves all 21 counties, according to the department.
Residents can enroll through Get Covered New Jersey during open enrollment. Outside that window, enrollment generally requires a qualifying life event, such as losing employer-sponsored coverage, getting married or having a baby.
