Authorities have identified two Jackson Township residents who were killed in a serious motor vehicle crash on Route 9 in Manalapan Township early Tuesday morning.

The victims were identified by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office as Thomas J. Dumon, 52, and Kiera Cirkovic, 22, both residents of Jackson.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. on October 13 along the southbound lanes of Route 9, just north of Craig Road.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the crash prompted an extended closure of Route 9 southbound near Symmes Drive.

The roadway remained closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene and crews cleared the highway.
