📸 Sign On Local Shul Door Restricts Entry To Members And Authorized Visitors, Says Only The Rabbi May Grant Permission
A bilingual “Private Property, No Trespassing” sign has been posted on the door of a local shul, in response to last week’s incident.
The sign, printed in English and Spanish, states that entry is restricted to members only and authorized visitors. It says no consent is given to entry or searches without a judicial warrant or other lawful authority.
It adds that only the Rabbi is authorized to grant permission for any entry or to provide consent for any access.
As TLS reported last week, ICE agents followed a pedestrian into an area shul and made arrests. A mispallel there said the agents sought permission to search the premises from an individual who was not authorized to grant it, and urged those responsible for communal buildings to understand who may make decisions about access.
