FAKE ACCOUNTS, REAL DANGER: Singer Meydad Tasa Warns Impersonators Are Harassing Women Using His Name

Oct 19, 2026·2 min read

Singer Meydad Tasa has issued an urgent warning to his followers after discovering that unidentified individuals have created dozens of fraudulent social media accounts impersonating him and are using those accounts to send inappropriate and harassing messages to women.

In a video posted to his social media platforms, Tasa revealed that several women had already contacted him after being deceived by the impersonators, who are reportedly using sophisticated methods to make their fake profiles appear authentic.

The singer said the situation has become increasingly concerning as additional fraudulent accounts continue appearing, despite efforts to have them removed.

“There are people who have opened dozens of fake accounts in my name and are sending messages to girls and harassing them,” Tasa explained. “I ask anyone who sees something like this to report it to Meta immediately, so that we can stop them, obtain information about them, and deal with each one of them.”

Tasa said he has already reached out to Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, and that the company has begun addressing the complaints. Nevertheless, the impersonation campaign has continued, with new accounts reportedly being created even as existing ones are flagged.

“I have already received several messages from girls who fell for this, because they are using very sophisticated tools,” he said. “We have already reported it to Meta, and they are working on it, but we are talking about dozens of accounts.”

The singer urged followers to exercise caution when receiving messages from accounts bearing his name or photograph, particularly when the communications appear suspicious or involve inappropriate requests.

He emphasized that public cooperation is essential to identifying the fraudulent profiles and preventing additional women from being misled or harassed.

“I ask everyone who sees something like this to report it and put a stop to it,” Tasa concluded. “I don’t want anyone to get hurt.”
