New Jersey workers will see another increase in the state’s minimum wage beginning January 1, 2027, with the hourly rate rising from $15.92 to $16.48 for most employees.
According to the New Jersey Department of Labor, the adjustment is tied to inflation and is intended to help wages keep pace with rising living costs.
Different rates will apply to certain industries. Employees working for small and seasonal businesses will earn a minimum of $16.25 per hour, while agricultural workers will see their minimum wage increase to $15 per hour.
The new wage requirements will take effect statewide, impacting eligible employees and businesses throughout New Jersey, including Lakewood and the surrounding Ocean County area.
