November 2 Deadline Approaching for New Jersey Property Tax Relief Applications

Oct 18, 2026·1 min read

New Jersey homeowners and renters who qualify for state property tax relief programs are being reminded that November 2, 2026, is the deadline to submit applications for benefits covering the 2025 tax year.

The deadline applies to the state’s ANCHOR, Senior Freeze, and Stay NJ programs, which provide financial assistance to eligible residents facing property tax expenses.

While many younger homeowners and renters had their ANCHOR applications processed automatically, certain residents, including senior homeowners and individuals receiving qualifying disability benefits, must submit their own applications.

Under the ANCHOR program, eligible homeowners may receive up to $1,500 in benefits, depending on income and other eligibility requirements.

Residents throughout New Jersey, including those in Lakewood and the surrounding Ocean County area, are encouraged to verify whether their applications have already been filed or whether additional action is required.

Applications, eligibility information, and payment status updates are available through the state’s official property tax relief website at PropertyTaxRelief.NJ.gov.
