Ten EV Charging Stations Planned at Monsey Mall Parking Lot on Route 59

A plan to bring ten EV charging spaces to the Monsey Mall parking lot on Route 59 is set to come before the Ramapo Planning Board on October 27, bringing the project closer to final approval.

The proposal calls for five electric vehicle charging stations serving ten charging stalls at 100 Route 59, in the Monsey Mall parking lot that serves Redelicious, Monsey Housewares, Wise Buys, and other businesses. The new EV spaces would replace seven regular parking spots in the lot.

The plan has been in the pipeline for some time, with the Planning Board reviewing the project’s classification back in December 2025. It has also appeared on Planning Board agendas earlier this year and is now returning before the board for final site plan approval.

The new chargers would add several more EV charging spots along Route 59. As previously reported by Rockland Daily, eight additional Level 3 fast chargers were approved by the Ramapo Planning Board in September at the Park and Ride parking lot across the street, near Evergreen.

If the Monsey Mall plan is approved, the two projects would place a total of 18 new EV charging spaces along this busy stretch of Route 59.
