Degel Hatorah leader, Slabodka Rosh Yeshivah, Hagaon Reb Dov Lando Shlita, launched a sharp attack Thursday evening on the Chareidi Public Party (HaTzibur HaChareidi), the new list running against United Torah Judaism in the upcoming Knesset elections, declaring that its members are not truly Chareidi.
Speaking on Thursday night, Reb Dov stressed that voters have a major obligation to cast their ballots for UTJ, which runs under the letter Gimmel.
He then turned his attention to the competing lists. “There are those who say there are other Chareidi lists — they only cause harm. Woe to them, woe to them.”
“I am saying it. Because they only cause harm, they won’t receive anything, they will only do damage, and they are certainly hired hands of the left,” Reb Dov continued. “A Chareidi Jew cannot do this. Even if they put on tefillin, they are not Chareidim.”
He added: “I am saying harsh words. Perhaps I should have said it even more harshly.”
