HaRav Ari Senter has publicly voiced his unstinting support for Senator Bill Weber, emphasizing the importance of the State Senate election and Weber's record of representing Rockland County's Jewish community.

In remarks explaining his position, Rav Senter raised concerns about the balance of power in Albany, the rise of antisemitism, support for Israel, and the importance of judging elected officials by their proven records rather than relying on political promises that too often go unfulfilled.

“I'd like to take this opportunity to explain why the state Senate race is a very imperative election,” Rav Senter said in the video he released explaining his unapologetic support of the Senator.

The Rav warned that further consolidation of legislative power in Albany could weaken the checks and balances essential to state government. He described Weber as an important voice for the community during his time in office.

“For the last four years, Bill Weber has been that checks and balance,” Rav Senter stated when explaining how critical the Senator’s position in Albany has been for his district. “He has represented us, and he has represented our ideology and our community.”

Rav Senter specifically highlighted Weber's response to antisemitism and his support for Israel and the Jewish community.

“He has stood by and fought strongly for our community and against anti-Semitism and the strong negative movement against Israel and the Jewish community at large,” the Rav stated unequivocally. Beyond those issues, Rav Senter emphasized Weber's consistency and integrity, which he has maintained even during a competitive election season.

“I would like to personally compliment Bill on the fact that, despite the challenges of an election, he has stood by his ideals,” Rav Senter said. “He has never bent the truth.” 

Rav Senter also praised Weber for maintaining the same principles when addressing different constituencies.

“He has been the same Bill whether he's in front of us or his other constituents,” Rav Senter said. “He represents all of us.”

Rav Senter also acknowledged Congressman Mike Lawler alongside Weber, describing both officials as longstanding friends of the community.

“It is very clear that both Mike Lawler and Bill Weber have been friends of our community,” Rav Senter pointed out, adding that his assessment of these two political leaders rests on demonstrated actions, established principles, and the importance of evaluating public officials on their records.

“In reality, we should base our decisions on facts, not promises,” Rav Senter stated. He emphasized that voters should consider whether a candidate's demonstrated record and principles align with their own, rather than relying on promises of future government assistance.

Concluding his remarks, Rav Senter connected his support for Weber to his broader concerns about the Jewish community in the United States and Eretz Yisroel.

“We have to vote and stand by our community, stand by Eretz Yisroel, stand by the Jewish community in the United States, and recognize we have to support those who support us,” he concluded his ringing endorsement for the Senator.
