Israel on Highest Alert Ahead of Election Day: Security Officials Fear Attack or Terror Incidents
Israel is raising its alert level to the highest degree ahead of Tuesday’s elections, with the security establishment concerned about a possible attack on Israel during Election Day or about terror incidents.
Police sources told Belaaz that officers are preparing for the possibility of missile fire toward Israel on Election Day, as well as for attempts to carry out terror attacks inside the country.
In addition, the IDF has decided that on Sunday and Monday, Palestinians will be barred from entering communities in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley for work, with the exception of industrial zones.
On Tuesday, Election Day, the entry of workers into Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley will be prohibited across the board — effectively a full closure of Judea and Samaria.
Additionally, following Friday’s terror attack, the encirclement of the cities of Hebron and Halhul will remain in place tonight as well.
