JERUSALEM (VINnews) – Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday to demand a state commission of inquiry into the security and leadership failures surrounding the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack.
The rally at Hostage Square was organized by the October Council, which represents families and friends of victims and survivors. Opposition leaders Gadi Eisenkot, Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Liberman attended the event.
Families of victims, survivors of Hamas captivity and relatives of those killed called for accountability and answers about how the attack unfolded and why authorities failed to prevent the massacre.

Rabbi Elhanan Danino, whose son Ori was abducted from the Nova music festival and murdered in Hamas captivity, urged the government to establish an independent state commission of inquiry, saying the country had a duty to pursue the truth.
Other speakers described the lasting trauma suffered by survivors and bereaved families and called for steps to prevent a similar tragedy.
The rally came amid continued public debate over the government’s handling of the Oct. 7 disaster and demands for a comprehensive investigation into the failures that preceded the attack.
