Oct 26, 2026·1 min read

An Israeli attorney has been indicted on charges of maintaining unlawful contact with a foreign agent and obstructing justice following an investigation by Israel’s Shin Bet security service and police. The case, details of which were authorized for publication Monday, emerged after the lawyer was arrested approximately two and a half weeks ago.

The indictment was submitted by the Central District Prosecutor’s Office to the Central District Court in Lod. The investigation began with the attorney’s arrest on suspicion of involvement in security-related offenses.

Authorities received court approval to release information about the case following a request from security officials. According to the details made public, investigators gathered evidence indicating that the lawyer allegedly maintained contact with a foreign agent in violation of Israeli law and interfered with the investigation.

After completing their investigation, prosecutors formally charged the attorney with contact with a foreign agent and obstruction of justice.

The prosecution has also asked the court to order that the defendant remain in custody for the duration of the legal proceedings.

Officials have not released the lawyer’s name, the identity of the alleged foreign agent or additional information about the suspected contact.
