Rams Owner Agrees To Buy Los Angeles Angels In $4 Billion Deal The Los Angeles Angels are getting a new owner, with Rams owner Stan Kroenke reaching a deal to purchase the baseball franchise from longtime owner Arte Moreno for a reported $4 billion. The massive price would make it the largest sale in MLB history. Moreno purchased the Angels for just $183.5 million in 2003. Kroenke already owns the Los Angeles Rams, along with the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Arsenal and other major sports properties. The Angels deal is expected to close in early 2027, pending MLB approval. The sale marks the end of Moreno’s 23-year run as controlling owner and could bring major changes to the Angels, who have not won a playoff game since 2009.
