Bass And Raman To Face Jewish Community At Los Angeles Mayoral Forum Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman will face off at a major Jewish Los Angeles mayoral forum later this month as the race for City Hall heats up ahead of the November election. The forum will take place Tuesday, September 29, in West Los Angeles, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Emmy-winning journalist Alex Cohen will moderate the conversation, which is being billed as a discussion about the future of Los Angeles. The event is being presented by a broad coalition of Jewish organizations, including Jewish Federation Los Angeles, the Skirball Cultural Center, Jewish Family Service LA, ADL Los Angeles and AJC Los Angeles. The event could be particularly significant as both candidates compete for Jewish voters in what has become a closely watched mayoral runoff. Bass and Raman have already clashed sharply over homelessness, public safety, housing and policing. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
