LA Relaxes Parking Enforcement For Upcoming Yomim Tovim The Los Angeles Department of Transportation will relax certain parking restrictions in many Jewish neighborhoods during the upcoming Yomim Tovim. Simply put: street cleaning, posted time limits and preferential/permit parking restrictions will generally not be enforced in the designated areas during the holiday periods. Parking meters, tow-away zones and safety violations will still be enforced. The relaxed enforcement schedule is: Rosh Hashanah — Friday, Sept. 11 at noon through Monday, Sept. 14 at noon. Yom Kippur — Sunday, Sept. 20 at noon through Tuesday, Sept. 22 at noon. Sukkos — Friday, Sept. 25 at noon through Saturday, Oct. 3 at noon. Shemini Atzeres & Simchas Torah — Friday, Oct. 2 at noon through Monday, Oct. 5 at noon. The exemptions cover large portions of the frum neighborhoods in Hancock Park, Pico-Robertson, Valley Village, Encino and other areas of Los Angeles, along with numerous specifically designated streets. One important reminder: this is not free parking everywhere. Meters still need to be paid, and tow-away and other safety restrictions remain fully enforceable.
