4 Killed, 2 Critically Injured After Car Plunges Off Mountain Road Near Wrightwood Four people were killed and two others critically injured after a vehicle went off Angeles Crest Highway near Wrightwood early Friday morning. The single-vehicle crash happened around 1:40 a.m. near Highway 2 and Flume Canyon Road, close to the Los Angeles–San Bernardino County line. Authorities say five people were ejected from the vehicle, while a sixth was able to get out on their own. Emergency crews faced difficult terrain and reportedly used about 40 feet of cable to reach the victims. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, while two survivors were airlifted to a trauma center in critical condition. CHP is investigating what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Initial reports indicate it may have struck a pole before rolling off the road and into a meadow below.
