HIGH SURF CAUSES MALIBU DRIVEWAYS TO COLLAPSE Powerful surf and coastal erosion caused two driveways at beachfront homes in Malibu to collapse early Tuesday morning, leaving large holes along Sea Level Drive near Point Lechuza. Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the 31600 block of Sea Level Drive at approximately 5:45 a.m. One of the collapses damaged a gas line, prompting Southern California Gas crews to shut it off. No injuries were reported. The damage comes as unusually large surf continues pounding the Southern California coastline. A High Surf Advisory and Coastal Flood Advisory remain in effect for the Malibu area through 11 p.m. tonight.
