🇮🇳🇮🇱 WATCH: Wounded Flydubai Captain Carried Off Plane After Helping Prevent Midair Disaster New footage shows Captain Smit Machchhar being carried off the Flydubai aircraft on a stretcher following its emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, on September 30. The video captures his evacuation after the cockpit attack aboard the Israel-bound flight. Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, the Indian captain managed to unlock the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to intervene and overpower the co-pilot, according to Israeli officials. All 174 passengers survived, and the aircraft landed safely. Machchhar has since been transferred to Abu Dhabi for continued treatment, and India’s embassy says he is recovering well. After visiting him in hospital on October 1, India’s ambassador said the captain was stable, in high spirits, and talking, smiling and laughing with those around him.
