Robots Now Roaming the Aisles at Ralphs Supermarkets Shoppers at Ralphs supermarkets across Los Angeles are encountering six-foot-tall robots named Tally, powered by artificial intelligence. The robots move through aisles scanning shelves for missing products, misplaced items and incorrect prices. One has been spotted at the Ralphs on Pico Boulevard. Ralphs says the robots help employees keep shelves stocked, but some workers are concerned the technology could eventually replace jobs. The robots are designed to monitor merchandise, not customers.
