Con Edison will begin showing customers how much of their electricity and gas bills goes toward New York City property taxes. According to the utility, approximately 21% of customers' monthly bills goes toward city property taxes, with taxes and fees accounting for roughly 30% overall. The change comes amid growing concerns over rising utility costs and recently approved rate increases.
