Three suspects were taken into custody after Flatbush Shomrim tracked a vehicle wanted in connection with multiple jewelry gypsy scams, including one targeting a Jewish victim on Shabbos near Ocean Parkway and Avenue M. Shomrim obtained the vehicle’s license plate Wednesday and later spotted and followed it after it returned to Brooklyn. The suspects attempted another similar scam near East 18th Street and Avenue L before police stopped the vehicle and took three occupants into custody.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that $35 million is now available to public-sector entities across New York, including local governments and public agencies, to install Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations on publicly owned property. The MTA is stepping up flood protections across New York City’s subway system after recent heavy rain sent water pouring into stations and disrupted commutes.
