New York State Police issued 10,803 traffic tickets and arrested 200 drivers for driving while intoxicated during a statewide Columbus Day weekend enforcement campaign. Troopers also investigated 768 crashes, including four fatal crashes. The four-day operation included increased patrols targeting speeding, distracted driving and other violations. The figures were released Friday and received additional coverage Monday.
