Suspicious Envelope Sent To Wasserman Schultz’s Sunrise Office A staffer at Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s district office in Sunrise reported a suspicious envelope Monday afternoon. The office is located at 777 Sawgrass Corporate Parkway. The envelope was not opened. Sunrise Police and hazmat teams responded, secured it, and initial tests came back negative for hazardous material. Further analysis is still underway. Wasserman Schultz said the letter was clearly meant to intimidate her and her staff, but that it will not work. She noted similar suspicious mail has been sent to other members of Congress recently, and that this is not the first time her office has received threatening mail. No ongoing threat to the building or area was reported after the response.
