Sunny Isles Beach commissioners voted 4-1 to approve a 62-story condo tower at 19051 Collins Ave., making it the tallest building in the city. The project drew heckling from some residents and hours of debate before passing Picture is the lot between the Residences by Armani Casa and the Ocean Two Condominium, currently home to an aging low-rise building, is set to be redeveloped by developers BH Group, Related Group and Dezer Development.

An American Airlines jet arrived in Miami with apparent bullet damage after a flight from Colombia, according to a published report. Flight AA923 landed Monday at Miami International Airport, where a post-flight inspection identified puncture marks on the right aileron of the aircraft, AirLive reported. The aileron helps control an airplane’s lateral balance during flight. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, completed the trip without incident and landed safely, the report said. The damage was discovered during routine maintenance checks after arrival.

A portfolio of three office/retail properties west of Boca Raton were sold for a combined $92.75 million, and an adjoining restaurant outparcel also changed hands. The sellers were all affiliates of Weston-based Titan General Partners, led by James Caprio. RARE CRE, led by Nelson Garcia, brokered the deals. He said the portfolio was about 90% occupied. The buyer of the three office buildings was the Berritto Family Office, which is based in Fort Lauderdale and invests mostly in commercial real estate. Boca Wharfside LLC, part of Titan General Partners, sold the 130,346-square-foot Boardwalk at 6885 S.W. 18th St., west of Boca Raton, for $43 million. It was built on the 10-acre site in 1986. Tenants include BurgerFi, Dunkin', Rafina Greek Taverna, Holloway’s Irish, Women’s Health Partners and Quest Diagnostics. TJAC Palmetto Park LLC sold the 126,930-square-foot City National Bank Plaza at 7000 W. Palmetto Park Road for $33.7 million. It was built on the 7.6-acre site in 1986. Tenants include City National Bank of Florida, High School for Accelerated Learning, TDL Centers and Bagel Boss. TJAC Boca Grove LLC sold the 58,939-square-foot Grove Centre at 21301 Powerline Road for $16.05 million. It was built on the 3.46-acre site in 1983. Tenants include Kabbalah Centre, Skin Appeal and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. Garcia said TJAC Palmetto Park LLC also sold a retail pad at City National Bank Plaza to a different buyer. McDonald’s bought out the ground lease on 7030 Palmetto Park Road for $4.16 million. It has a 4,965-square-foot restaurant on a 0.61-acre site there.

Jonathan Beyderman, a senior at Yeshiva Tiferes Torah of Boca Raton, has been named one of nine Jewish day school students nationwide selected as candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s most prestigious honors for high school students. The program, run by the U.S. Department of Education, recognizes students for exceptional academic achievement, leadership, community service, and outstanding standardized test scores. Each year, up to 161 students nationwide are selected from thousands of nominees. Beyderman’s selection highlights the academic excellence at Yeshiva Tiferes Torah and places him among the nation’s top-performing high school seniors. Final Presidential Scholars will be announced later this year.
