Jewish connection starts with human connection. At a tefillin stand at USC, the conversations are about everything from girlfriends and sports to skateboards and scooters. And that's what makes these moments so special. Putting on tefillin isn't separate from the students' everyday lives. It's something they can make time for right in the middle of everything else. There's a beautiful lesson in that. Being Jewish isn't something we have to set aside time to be. It's part of who we are, whether we're heading to class, catching up with friends, or just passing through campus. Sometimes, all it takes is a minute to bring that connection into our day.
