IDF Strikes Three Hezbollah Command Posts In Central Lebanon, Senior Terrorists Eliminate
JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF struck and killed several Hezbollah missile array terrorists in a Friday attack in Baalbek in Central Lebanon, according to a report by the IDF spokesperson on Saturday.
The attack was spearheaded by a lethal Air Force strike, in which fighter jets arrived covertly and simultaneously dropped six bombs on three separate headquarters of Hezbollah terrorists. According to the IDF, the terrorists were actively planning deployments of rocket and missile launchers.
Hezbollah leadership said that the three commanders who were killed were identified as Ali Zeid al-Moussawi, Muhammad Ibrahim al-Moussawi, and Hussein Yaghi. Later on Saturday, the Associated Press reported that the IDF killed eight Hezbollah terrorists in the village of Rayak in northeast Lebanon on Friday.
Saudi channel al-Hadath reported that the strike targeted a commander’s meeting, while initial Arab media reports suggested that an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander was the target.
The Jerusalem Post could not verify the claims by Arab media reports regarding the presence of IRGC commanders at the meeting.
The Lebanese Health Ministry put the total death toll at 10 people, but did not distinguish between civilians and terrorists.
The IDF said in its statement that the attack on Baalbek targeted a command center “embedded within the civilian population, in violation of the ceasefire understandings, and while cynically exploiting the civilian population as human shields to advance terror attacks.”
The IDF also targeted a Hamas command center near Sidon in southern Lebanon on Friday, which was being used as a command and control center and a training facility for Hamas terrorists. According to the IDF, the Hamas infrastructure was also embedded among the civilian population, which constituted a violation of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
The IDF also announced that it had killed a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line in Gaza, noting that the terrorist posed an immediate threat to troops and that it would “continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.”
