🚨 IRAN GETTING POUNDED: U.S. Launches New Wave Of Strikes Against Iran As Fighting Escalates Around Strait Of Hormuz
The U.S. military launched another wave of strikes against Iranian targets on Sunday evening, marking the latest escalation in the growing conflict over the Strait of Hormuz.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces began the operation at approximately 5:00 p.m. ET under orders from President Donald Trump.
“U.S. Central Command forces began launching more strikes against Iran to continue degrading their ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said. “The Commander in Chief has directed the strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable.”
Iranian state media reported explosions in several locations, including Qeshm, Jask, Sirik, and Bandar Abbas, all near the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The strikes come after Iran launched attacks earlier in the day against sites in the Gulf and amid continued tensions over freedom of navigation through one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.
Separately, CENTCOM dismissed Iranian claims that U.S. troops had been killed during strikes in Kuwait.
“Iranian propaganda claimed today that three American service members were killed in Kuwait by strikes from Iran,” CENTCOM said. “There are zero reports of U.S. service member deaths or injuries in the region.”
The statement followed reports from Iran’s state-affiliated Fars News Agency alleging that an Iranian operation targeting U.S. HIMARS launchers in Kuwait may have killed three American personnel and wounded several others.
The U.S. military has categorically denied those claims.
