The B’Tzalmo organization filed a complaint with the Israel Bar Association against attorney Shuaa Masarwa Mansour in the wake of his behavior toward an Israeli minister during a High Court hearing on petitions against the UNRWA law on Monday.

The organization is demanding that he face disciplinary proceedings and be permanently disbarred.

During the hearing, a verbal confrontation erupted between National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, Deputy Minister Almog Cohen, and MK Tally Gotliv on one side, and attorney Shuaa Masarwa Mansour, representing UNRWA, who formerly served as mayor of Taybeh, on the other. During the clash, Masarwa called Ben Gvir a “dog” three times. In response, Ben Gvir and Gotliv shouted back, “Get out of here. Who gave you a law license? Shame on the Bar Association.”

Following the incident, Shay Glick, CEO of B’Tzalmo, submitted a complaint to the Israel Bar Association, writing, “The fact that an attorney, in the heart of the High Court, dared to call a government minister and elected official in Israel a ‘dog’ and repeated it three times despite security personnel demanding that he stop is outrageous and inconceivable.”

“While appearing in court wearing his legal robe, attorney Masarwa chose to incite, defame, and insult an elected official and fellow attorney. Such conduct harms the standing of the Israel Bar Association and the legal profession. I demand that immediate action be taken against him.”

“I am confident that the head of the Bar Association, who personally took action against attorney Odelia Kadmi after she assisted bereaved families in the High Court and filed a complaint seeking her permanent disbarment, will act with the same determination in this case and join B’Tzalmo’s complaint against this inciting attorney.”
