An apparent accidental shooting at an IDF training base in the Jordan Valley left a Lubavitcher soldier seriously wounded Tuesday evening.

The soldier, Chaim Hershkovitz, was immediately rushed to the hospital. Friends say his condition is now stable, boruch Hashem, and he is conscious.

The IDF said the shooting appears to have happened during the improper handling of a weapon involving three soldiers. The Military Police are investigating the incident.
