The Mesivta of Arizona held a Yarchei Kallah, welcoming the greater Phoenix community into a yeshiva atmosphere from morning till night. For one day, children, seniors, shluchim, businessmen, college students, and mekuravim joined together around one table to learn, daven, and farbreng.
The morning began with a shiur by Rabbi Levi Altein, Mashpia of Shiur Beis, who taught Perek Lamed-Ches of Tanya — the perek his class is currently learning — taking the Alter Rebbe‘s wording apart through the teachings of the Rebbe and his father, Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson.
After a lavish breakfast, all attendees sat down to learn with the bochurim. Rabbi Yehuda Frankel, Maggid Shiur of Shiur Gimmel, gave a Shiur on the sugya of acquiring a stolen object, from Bava Kama. He was followed by Rabbi Eli Filler, Shliach in Prescott, AZ, who gave a Shiur on Hilchos Beis HaBechirah as per the Rebbe’s instruction to learn those Halachos during the 3 weeks.
At night, before the farbrengen, Rabbi Eli Levitansky, Shliach to S. Monica, California, gave a shiur on how a person attains altruism. From there, it rolled straight into a farbrengen with unmatched energy that lasted well into the night.
The Yarchei Kallah was held under the hanhala of the Menahel, Rabbi Abi Naparstak, and the Director, Rabbi Yossi Levertov. The program was arranged and coordinated by Rabbi Mendy Thaler together with the Eltere Bochurim and Shluchim of the yeshiva.
All in all, nearly 100 people participated throughout the day, bringing a tremendous energy into the Yeshiva and the city at large.
