Mrs. Aidel Bloom, beloved mother, grandmother, educator, and pillar of the Sydney Jewish community, passed away on Shabbos Mevarchim Elul, 25 Av, 5786.

She was 73.

Mrs. Aidel Bloom was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Together with her late husband, Dr. Aryeh Bloom, she devoted her life to Jewish education and to raising her family with a deep love for Torah and Yiddishkeit. Her home was a place of warmth, love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to her values.

She was known for her larger-than-life, vivacious personality. Her presence could light up a room, and her stories, humor, and infectious energy left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She was steadfast in her observance of Torah and mitzvos and was deeply mekushar to the Rebbe, whose teachings and guidance were a central part of her life.

A defining hallmark of Aidel’s life was the extraordinary unconditional love and pride she had for her family. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in each of them and their families.

She was a woman of profound emunah. Even through the most difficult moments of her life, she held firmly to the belief that everything comes from Hashem, that all is divine providence, and that ultimately everything is for the best. Her faith, strength, and spiritual depth were an inspiration to those around her.

She is survived by her beloved children, Carmella Markowitz (NJ), Talia Broner (LA), Sara Pugen (Toronto), Yonah Bloom (Sydney), Tuvia Bloom (South Australia), Sholom Ber Bloom (Philadelphia), Simcha Bloom (Seattle), and Shaina Levin (Sydney), and by her many grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and nachas.

The Levaya will take place at the Sydney Chevra Kadisha at 11:30am on Monday, August 10th.
