A growing WhatsApp group is making daily practical halacha study accessible in just one minute a day. Participants receive a brief daily voice note covering a halacha from the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch, offering a simple way to incorporate practical halacha study into their daily routine.
The initiative continues the legacy of Rabbi Peretz Feigenson OBM, a respected chossid and talmid chochom who devoted his life to organizing Torah and Chassidus shiurium throughout the Crown Heights community.
Following the Rebbe’s launch of Mivtza Torah in 5731 (1971), Rabbi Feigenson immediately took action. Working closely with Rabbi Dovid Raskin OBM, Chairman of Lubavitch Youth Organization (Tzach), he organized shiurim in shuls throughout the neighborhood.
Many in Crown Heights fondly remember the numerous shiurim and chavrusos he established and led over the years, helping make regular Torah study an integral part of community life.
In his tzava’ah, Rabbi Feigenson asked his children to learn one seif of the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch each day.
In fulfillment of that request and in his memory, his son, Rabbi Mendel Feigenson, Chabad Shliach in Sugar Land, Texas, now shares a brief daily halacha voice note through the WhatsApp group, extending his father’s commitment to daily Torah study to a wider audience.
This week, the group begins studying the practical halachos of Tishrei. New participants are invited to join nearly 200 others who are already taking part in the daily one-minute halacha study.
