Dozens of soldiers took upon themselves a good resolution to don Tefillin every single day.
The special moment occurred during a visit by the Nelken family from Miami, Crown Heights and Pennsylvania who chose to spend their summer vacation in the Holy Land to support IDF troops.
The visit and distribution were organized by ‘Ezer L’Chayal’, an organization that works year-round for the families of IDF soldiers and reservists. At the peak of the event, the family presented 25 pairs of mehudar Tefillin, donated in memory of their grandfather, R’ Yechiel Dov Nelken OBM.
Every soldier who committed to the mitzvah received a complete set, including mehudar Tefillin, a high-quality leather bag, an instructional booklet detailing the order of putting on Tefillin, and a branded yarmulke. The emotion in the field reached its peak as the soldiers wrapped themselves in Tefillin, singing with heartfelt devotion.

Besides the immense spiritual encouragement, the Chabad volunteers also responded to a request sent in advance to the Ezer L’Chayal command center: due to the extreme heat in the field, the family purchased and brought powerful portable outdoor air conditioners to help relieve the soldiers during these sweltering summer days.
The soldiers and commanders expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Nelken family and to ‘Ezer L’Chayal’ for their extraordinary care—both spiritual and material—noting: “Thank you, Chabad, for not forgetting us even after nearly three years of war. The warm embrace and support from Jews in the Diaspora give us tremendous strength to continue our mission
