Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian revealed that he recently held a seven-hour meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, describing the lengthy discussion as “very good.”

Pezeshkian disclosed details of the meeting while speaking with political party leaders and activists at Iran’s Interior Ministry, saying his conversation with Khamenei lasted seven consecutive hours and covered a range of pressing issues facing the country.

According to Pezeshkian, much of the discussion centered on the economic hardships facing Iranian citizens, including employment, housing and the impact of continued economic sanctions. The two also discussed ways for the government and the Iranian public to confront the country’s economic challenges.

Pezeshkian said Khamenei placed particular emphasis on maintaining national unity and cohesion, while warning against what he described as attempts by Iran’s enemies to create divisions within the country.

“There may be disagreements inside the house, but outwardly we will speak with one voice so that our enemies know that Iran stands firmly in defense of its independence,” Pezeshkian said.

Addressing Iran’s ongoing economic difficulties, Pezeshkian acknowledged the frustrations facing ordinary citizens and pledged that his government would continue working to address them.

“If you see shortcomings and difficulties, know that we feel ashamed, but we will do our utmost to serve you and solve the problems,” he said.
