
Ramapo Police Arrest Burglary Suspect Following Extensive Search on Campbell Avenue
Ramapo Police arrested a 29-year-old man Sunday night following an extensive search after a reported burglary at a residence on Campbell Avenue.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on August 9, officers responded to the Campbell Avenue area while searching for Jose Victor Jimenez-Rivera, who police identified as the former husband of the victim. Police said Jimenez-Rivera fled on foot through nearby backyards following the reported burglary.
An extensive search of the surrounding area followed, with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office BCI, as well as Suffern Police, assisting Ramapo Police. A drone was also deployed during the search.
Jimenez-Rivera was eventually located and taken into custody without further incident.
Police charged Jimenez-Rivera with second-degree burglary, acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17, third-degree criminal tampering, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and petit larceny.
Jimenez-Rivera was arraigned on the charges and released without bail pending a future court appearance.
