The annual One Crown Heights Festival will return this Sunday, August 16, bringing Crown Heights residents together for an afternoon of live entertainment, activities and community programming.
The free, family-friendly festival will take place from 12:00 to 5:00 PM on Park Place between Brooklyn and Kingston Avenues. One Crown Heights is funded in part by the NYC Mayor’s Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes.
This year’s program will feature live music headlined by children’s entertainer Rabbi B., who will perform popular children’s songs.
Other attractions will include roller skating, a coached basketball tournament and clinic, a local artists market, hands-on activities for children and opportunities to meet neighborhood organizations.
Festival attendees will also receive free admission to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum during the event.
The festival is organized by the One Crown Heights Coalition, a partnership of neighborhood nonprofit organizations, community leaders, elected officials and residents working to strengthen connections among Crown Heights residents.
Coalition members include the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Community Conversations & Collaboration, Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC), Crown Heights Local Development Corporation, Crown Heights North Association, Epic Village Community Development, Friends of Brower Park, JCRC-NY, Jewish Children’s Museum, Save Our Streets (SOS/NIA), and the 67th, 71st and 77th Precinct Community Councils, as well as UJA-Federation of New York.
