As Monsey Scoop reported last week, the Village of Spring Valley Board of Trustees recently promoted Sergeant Brendan Dowling to the rank of lieutenant.

On Tuesday morning, Dowling was officially sworn in as lieutenant during a ceremony at Spring Valley Village Hall, surrounded by family, friends, fellow members of the Spring Valley Police Department, and village officials.

Dowling fills the lieutenant position left vacant following the retirement of Jack Bosworth, who served the department as both a lieutenant and deputy chief. Dowling is assuming the lieutenant position only, not the deputy chief role.

Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach praised Dowling’s promotion and years of service to the village.

“Lieutenant Dowling has shown tremendous dedication and commitment to the residents of Spring Valley throughout his years of service,” Eisenbach told Monsey Scoop. “We congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion and wish him much success as he takes on this important leadership role.”
