The Eruv of Monsey marked a major milestone Tuesday afternoon with a Kevias Mezuzah at its new headquarters and warehouse on Grove Street in Spring Valley, bringing the organization’s growing operations together under one roof for the first time.

Rabbonim, askonim, community leaders, Eruv staff members and supporters gathered at the new facility for the special occasion, where ten mezuzos were affixed throughout the building, followed by a L’chaim.

The move represents a significant upgrade for the Eruv, whose operations have continued to expand in order to maintain and oversee the extensive Eruv serving Monsey and the surrounding communities.

Until now, the organization’s office operated from one location while its trucks, equipment and materials were stored separately. Much of the equipment and vehicles also had to remain outdoors, creating additional challenges throughout the year, particularly during the winter months, when snow and harsh weather complicated access to the trucks and supplies needed for the Eruv’s constant maintenance and emergency repairs.

With Hashem’s help, the new approximately 3,000-square-foot facility will allow the entire operation to function from one centralized location. The building includes expanded office space as well as a warehouse and indoor garage for the Eruv’s trucks, equipment and materials.

The larger offices will also provide space for the Eruv’s administrative and fundraising operations and will allow Rabbonim, staff members and askonim to meet together at the same location where the field operation is based.

A substantial investment was made to prepare and equip the new facility for the organization’s needs. The Eruv is expected to fully transition into the building over the coming weeks.

Among those in attendance at the Kevias Mezuzah were the Viznitzer Rebbe and his son, the Satmar Rabbonim, the Pupa Rav, the Belzer Rav, prominent Dayonim, askonim, community leaders and members of the Eruv staff.

Tuesday’s Kevias Mezuzah celebrated not only a new home for the organization, but an important step forward in strengthening the infrastructure behind the daily work required to maintain the Eruv for thousands of families throughout Monsey and the surrounding area.
