Community Outreach Center To Host Free Back-to-School Supply Giveaway In Monsey With Support From Assemblyman Aron Wieder
Community Outreach Center will host its first-ever Back-to-School School Supply Giveaway this Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. outside its Community Center at 21 Remsen Avenue in Monsey.
With the new school year approaching and families facing mounting back-to-school expenses, the organization is looking to help ease the financial burden by distributing free bags containing more than $50 worth of quality, brand-name school supplies.
The giveaway is being made possible through a grant provided by Assemblyman Aron Wieder. Each bag will include supplies from well-known brands including Crayola, BIC, Dixon, Elmer’s, Expo, Staples, Zebra and others.
Supplies will be available while they last, with a limit of three bags per family. Children must be present and accompanied by an adult in order to receive a bag. The event is weather permitting.
Community Outreach Center Executive Director Rabbi Hersh Horowitz thanked Assemblyman Wieder for his support of the initiative, as well as event-day sponsors Westchester Medical Center, Orange Bank & Trust, Rockland Kosher, Interstate Toyota, Evergreen Kosher Supermarket, The Monsey View, Light It Up and RiteCare for helping make the giveaway possible.
