GAZA REBUILD: International Forces Begin Preliminary Patrols Ahead Of Reconstruction
International Security Force (ISF) personnel have begun preliminary patrols inside the Gaza Strip as preparations move forward for reconstruction work in areas currently under IDF control along the Yellow Line.
New footage released by the Tzav 9 movement and the Israel Envelope Forum shows the first ISF and international forces operating from the American base at Kerem Shalom. According to the forum, the forces are conducting preliminary tours ahead of reconstruction work expected to begin in the coming weeks.
The Israel Envelope Forum said statements that Gaza’s reconstruction would not begin until Hamas is disarmed apply only to areas controlled by Hamas. The group claims that under Section 17 of the agreement, reconstruction in areas controlled by the IDF along the Yellow Line is set to begin in the coming weeks.
“The international forces and the Board of Peace have begun preliminary patrols in the Strip for the planned reconstruction, while Hamas continues to strengthen and arm itself,” the forum said.
Tzav 9 sharply criticized the move, warning that rebuilding any part of Gaza before Hamas is fully disarmed would allow terror infrastructure to be rebuilt and reduce pressure on the terror group to surrender its weapons.
“Any reconstruction in the Gaza Strip before the complete disarmament of Hamas means rebuilding terror infrastructure, rewarding and encouraging Hamas to continue refusing to disarm, and a crushing defeat for us in the war,” the group said.
Tzav 9 announced that it will hold a protest at Kerem Shalom next Tuesday, August 25, accusing officials of abandoning the security of Gaza border communities and returning to the failed policies of the past.
