IDF reveals: Hamas uses Nasser Hospital to conduct brutal interrogations, torture

The IDF on Thursday revealed intelligence indicating that Hamas is exploiting Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis to interrogate and torture Gaza residents, as the terrorist organization intensifies efforts to maintain its control over the population.
According to the IDF, Hamas has identified declining support among residents of the Gaza Strip and fears losing its grip on the population. In response, the organization has increased the activities of its security apparatus, using intimidation, interrogations and torture to enforce its rule.
Newly-released intelligence indicates that interrogations conducted by Hamas' Internal Security Forces and military intelligence are taking place in the Yassin building, on the second floor of Nasser Hospital's outpatient clinic complex.
The IDF said that Hamas is using the hospital as a governing center for purposes entirely unrelated to medical care, including interrogations, torture and extortion.
According to the military, Nasser Hospital continues to serve as a central Hamas military infrastructure in the southern Gaza Strip.
Patients and hospital employees have witnessed a permanent presence of Hamas terrorists throughout various parts of the hospital compound, some of whom are masked, the IDF stated.
The military warned that Hamas' activities inside the hospital create fear among Gaza residents and endanger patients, healthcare providers and medical personnel.
The IDF further revealed that Hamas is conducting additional interrogations in another building in the hospital compound. The structure, which formerly housed hospital offices, was subsequently used as a cafeteria and was later converted into a prayer room. According to the IDF, Hamas has now transformed it into an interrogation center.
The military said that the exploitation of civilian infrastructure for interrogations and torture is not an isolated practice, but rather a widespread phenomenon within Hamas.
"These actions by the Hamas terrorist organization constitute a violation of international law, which prohibits the military use of hospitals," the IDF stated.
The IDF concluded with a warning directed to residents of the Gaza Strip, accusing Hamas of exploiting facilities intended to serve the civilian population in an effort to preserve its rule.
"Fearing the loss of its control over the Gaza Strip, the Hamas terrorist organization exploits hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities for its own purposes, harming residents in the very places meant to serve them," the IDF said.
