TRAGEDY: Kasriel Nachman Keinan Found Lifeless Near Tveria After Weeklong Search
The weeklong search for 24-year-old Kasriel Nachman Keinan of Beit Shemesh came to a heartbreaking end Thursday after he was found lifeless in the Switzerland Forest near Tveria.
Keinan was last seen on August 10 at approximately 6:00 p.m. near Gai Beach on the shores of the Kinneret while traveling toward Tzfas. Contact with him was lost shortly afterward, prompting an extensive search and appeals to the public for information.
At approximately 1:40 p.m. Thursday, ZAKA’s emergency hotline received a report that a body had been located in the Switzerland Forest area. Volunteers from ZAKA’s Northern District rushed to the scene, and identification procedures confirmed that it was Keinan.
The niftar was found in extremely difficult terrain near a cliff, requiring ZAKA volunteers to work together with rescue forces in a complex operation to recover him while ensuring full kavod hameis.
ZAKA Northern District team leader Shai Levy said the location presented major challenges because of the steep and difficult terrain, and that teams immediately began working to recover the niftar once his identity was confirmed.
