As a new school year approaches and a new group of teachers prepares to enter the classroom for the very first time, the Menachem Education Foundation is continuing its commitment to ensure that first-year teachers don’t have to navigate the challenges of Chinuch alone.

MEF’s New Teacher Mentoring Program provides Chinuch mentoring and coaching for first-year Chabad Mechanchim and Mechanchos teaching both Limudei Kodesh and Limudei Chol in preschool through grade 12.

Chinuch lies at the center of our community’s success, and both the merit and responsibility of teaching are tremendous. Every child in our schools deserves a year of growth and high-quality learning. Yet building the skills to reach each student, manage a classroom, and grow into the role of a Mechanech or Mechaneches doesn’t happen overnight.

Through MEF’s network of experienced educators and Chinuch professionals, new teachers receive personalized guidance from mentors who understand the realities of the classroom and approach Chinuch in alignment with Chabad Hashkafos and the Rebbe’s teachings.

Last year, in honor of 50 years since the Rebbe launched Mivtzah Chinuch, MEF expanded this support by offering every first-year teacher who registered access to coaching, with 50 new teachers receiving a full 10-session Chinuch coaching package.

But the support went beyond the coaching sessions themselves. MEF sought to give new teachers the message that as they dedicate themselves to their students, the Chinuch community is behind them, supporting and investing in their success.

Mrs. Mushky Tuvel, Principal at Magen Israel in Long Island, NY, shared the impact this had on her school:

“Too often, teachers are left to struggle in their classrooms alone,” says Rabbi Zalman Shneur, Director of MEF. “We are giving every teacher the opportunity to have the support they need so that every single student in their classroom will have Hatzlacha.”
