Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, launched a scathing attack on National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Saturday night amid the dispute over a potential merger between right-wing parties.

Netanyahu said the sole reason for seeking to form a technical bloc between Ben Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich, Moshe Feiglin and Ofer Winter is “not to waste right-wing votes on parties that will fail to cross the electoral threshold."

He added: “The danger that the right-wing bloc will fail to secure 61 seats simply doesn’t interest you. You don’t care if a government led by Yair Golan, Eisenkot and the Muslim Brotherhood is formed. As far as you’re concerned, there’s no problem with sitting in the opposition. After all, the only thing you know how to do is make TikTok videos."

Netanyahu then turned to a personal attack on Ben Gvir, claiming that “under your tenure, and under the police commissioner you appointed, the Israel Police has definitively become Kaplan’s enforcement arm, with a policy of apartheid and persecution against the right."

He further alleged that during Ben Gvir’s four years in office, the police allowed left-wing protesters to block roads and engage in anarchy, continued to target right-wing figures, and “buried the military prosecutor affair and the allegations against Force 100."
