An unusual incident took place over the weekend in Tel Aviv, when a local resident climbed onto the roof of an apartment building and threatened to jump.

Police officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station arrived at the scene, cleared the area and began trying to establish contact with the man.

A police negotiating team spoke with him from a distance and attempted to persuade him to come down safely. According to a report by Channel 12 News, during the negotiations the man told officers that there was only one person he was willing to listen to: popular Israeli singer Yehuda Poliker.

"The only person who can make me not jump is Yehuda Poliker," he reportedly told the police.

As the incident continued, police realized they needed to act quickly. Late at night, officers went to Poliker's home, where he was asleep, and woke him to ask for his help.

Poliker agreed and spoke with the man by telephone. The conversation lasted several minutes and ended successfully, with the man agreeing to come down from the roof.

A police source involved in the incident told Channel 12 News: "I've been serving for many years, but I've never encountered such a strange incident. We understood that this was a matter of life and death, and we thank Yehuda Poliker for agreeing to help us during those dramatic moments."
