IRAN ESCALATION: Trump Vows Retaliation After Iranian Missile Attack On U.S. Forces, Declares Iran A “Failed Nation”
President Trump said the United States will respond to Iran’s overnight missile attack targeting American forces in Jordan, as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate.
Trump told Fox News that the U.S. intends to retaliate following the Iranian attack. The strike came after U.S. forces targeted Iranian positions on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran subsequently launched missiles toward Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
Israel was reportedly informed in advance of the U.S. operation. Israeli officials currently view the latest exchange as a limited confrontation that could remain contained as long as neither side suffers significant damage.
Jordan and the UAE condemned the Iranian attacks targeting their territory. UAE presidential adviser Anwar Gargash said the current situation of being neither at war nor at peace is not sustainable and called for realistic political and economic solutions to the crisis.
Trump also issued a blistering assessment of Iran’s condition, declaring the country a “failed” and “dead” nation and claiming its leadership is in complete disarray. He said Iran has been left without a functioning navy or air force, its currency has collapsed, security forces are going unpaid and inflation has reached 300%.
The president further accused Iran’s leadership of killing more than 100,000 protesters and said those responsible should face prosecution for crimes against humanity.
