A year of growth in learning, Chassidishkeit and Mivtzoim culminates in a celebration of the achievements of the Bochurim and the dedicated Hanhala and Talmidim Hashluchim.

Another year has come to a close at Yeshivas Tomchei Tmimim S. Paulo, and 5786 has proven to be a year of tremendous growth and accomplishment.

Year after year, the yeshiva continues to grow, both in its number of Bochurim and, more importantly, in the quality of its learning, Chassidishkeit and involvement in the Rebbe’s Shlichus.

Behind this growth stands a dedicated Hanhala, working together with one goal: to provide every Bochur with a strong environment in which he can grow in Torah, Avodah and התקשרות to the Rebbe.

Leading the yeshiva is the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Shamai Ende, who oversees the Torah learning and academic direction of the yeshiva, ensuring that the Bochurim receive a strong and serious Torah education.

Working alongside him is the Director, Rabbi Mendi Koncepolski, who carries the responsibility for the physical and financial needs of the yeshiva. His work behind the scenes ensures that the many needs of the yeshiva are taken care of and that the institution has the infrastructure necessary to continue growing.

The day-to-day operation of the yeshiva is coordinated by the Menahel, Rabbi Daniel Treger, who is constantly involved with the Bochurim and staff, coordinating the many aspects of the yeshiva and helping ensure that the daily schedule and programs run smoothly.

The spiritual atmosphere of the yeshiva is further strengthened by the Mashpia, Rabbi Zalman Zajac, who dedicates himself to the personal and spiritual development of the Bochurim. Through Farbrengens, personal guidance and constant attention to the needs of the Bochurim, he helps create an atmosphere in which Chassidishkeit is not simply something learned, but something lived.

Together with the rest of the Hanhala, these individuals form a team whose combined efforts have helped make 5786 such a successful year.

A major part of the success of the year has been the work of the Talmidim Hashluchim.

The Talmidim Hashluchim, older Bochurim who come to strengthen the yeshiva and assist the younger Bochurim, play a unique role. They are not only there to help with the programs of the yeshiva; they become role models, learning partners and mentors for the younger Bochurim.

Throughout the year, the Talmidim Hashluchim invested tremendous effort in creating a stronger atmosphere of learning and Chassidishkeit. They learned with Bochurim individually and in groups, encouraged them to take on new goals and helped make the many programs of the yeshiva into something exciting and meaningful.

One of the highlights of their work this year was Mivtza Alef Beis.

The goal of Mivtza Alef Beis was ambitious: the Bochurim would learn the first two volumes of Likutei Sichos in Yiddish.

Learning Likutei Sichos in the original language gives Bochurim an opportunity to experience the Rebbe’s Sichos in a particularly direct way, while simultaneously strengthening their Yiddish and their connection to the Rebbe’s Torah.

The Talmidim Hashluchim worked throughout the year to encourage the Bochurim to keep up with the learning and make steady progress.

To add excitement and motivation, the Mivtza included monthly raffles, giving the Bochurim an additional incentive to remain consistent with their learning.

The results were remarkable.

What began as a learning project became a year-long movement of learning, with Bochurim taking on the challenge together and encouraging one another along the way.

The success of Mivtza Alef Beis demonstrated once again the unique power of a yeshiva when learning becomes something that the entire group is involved in together.

Mivtza Alef Beis was only one of many initiatives throughout the year.

The Talmidim Hashluchim organized and encouraged additional Mivtzoim, creating opportunities for the Bochurim to turn their learning and Chassidishkeit into action.

The area of Mivtzoim was also greatly strengthened throughout the year. The Bochurim were encouraged to leave the walls of the yeshiva on fridays and bring the Rebbe’s message to the wider Jewish community.

For a yeshiva in Brazil, this has a special significance. The Bochurim are not only developing themselves as Chassidim; they are learning to become Shluchim who can influence others and bring Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit to Jews throughout the country.

After a year of hard work, learning and growth, the Zman came to a close with a special event celebrating the achievements of the Bochurim.

The event served as a fitting conclusion to a year in which so much had been accomplished. The success of Mivtza Alef Beis, the strengthening of Mivtzoim and the many accomplishments of the Bochurim throughout the year were celebrated together.

But perhaps the greatest accomplishment was not any single program or Mivtza.

It was the growth of the Bochurim themselves.

Every day of learning, every Farbrengen, every Mivtza, every Seder and every opportunity to help another Jew contributed to the development of a stronger and more committed group of Bochurim.

As 5786 comes to an end, the atmosphere at Tomchei Tmimim São Paulo is not one of simply looking back.

It is looking forward.

The continued growth of the yeshiva is a testament to the dedication of its Hanhala, the hard work of the Talmidim Hashluchim and, above all, the efforts of the Bochurim themselves.

With a strong foundation of Torah learning, Chassidishkeit, Farbrengens, Mivtzoim and a deep commitment to the Rebbe’s Shlichus, Tomchei Tmimim São Paulo is continuing to build a generation of Bochurim who will carry the Rebbe’s message forward wherever they may be.

5786 was a year of tremendous Hatzlacha.

And if the growth of recent years is any indication, the future of Tomchei Tmimim S. Paulo is brighter than ever.
