Israel’s security establishment is on unprecedented alert amid a dramatic surge in warnings and terrorist plots across Yehuda and Shomron.

Security officials are warning of intensified efforts to carry out significant attacks against civilians and security forces in the area.

According to a Channel 12 News report, the efforts to carry out attacks are being directed primarily by terrorist elements outside Israel, primarily Iran, Hamas leaders abroad, and Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

Channel 12 News quoted a senior military official as saying: “The motivation to carry out attacks in Yehuda and Shomron is high, and the lack of success is driving that motivation even higher.”

The security establishment has identified growing difficulty among terrorist elements in Yehuda and Shomron in carrying out significant attacks in the area. According to the assessment, this difficulty is further increasing their motivation to carry out attacks in an effort to score a psychological victory and encourage hostile elements abroad to orchestrate attacks.

The IDF is working to thwart every hostile initiative, with the understanding that any incident that is not thwarted in time could ignite a widespread conflagration throughout the entire sector.

Against the backdrop of the growing threats, security forces and IDF soldiers are intensifying offensive operations to thwart terrorist infrastructure in cities and villages. The ongoing operations include nighttime raids, the seizure of large quantities of weapons, searches, and the questioning of suspects in the field.

Over the past week alone, forces from the IDF’s Yehuda and Shomron Division arrested approximately 60 suspects involved in terrorist activity, including terrorists who were already in advanced stages of planning attacks intended to be carried out in the immediate future.
