Sarah Netanyahu ignited a political firestorm Monday after questioning how Yair Golan was already “dressed and ready” on the morning of October 7 while, according to her, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu still knew nothing about what was unfolding.

Speaking in an interview with Channel 14, Netanyahu raised the question while discussing the events surrounding October 7, appearing to hint at the possibility of a betrayal from within.

The Democrats party, headed by Golan, responded furiously, strongly condemning what it called Sarah Netanyahu’s “words of incitement and lies.”

“Spreading conspiracies against Maj. Gen. Yair Golan and blackening his heroism on October 7 is crossing a red line bordering on insanity,” the party said.

The Democrats continued their attack, saying that while Netanyahu “ran to put on makeup and look for excuses, Yair Golan charged forward and saved lives.”

“The facts will not change,” the party added. “No matter how much the Netanyahu family and Channel 14 try to rewrite them.”

Sarah Netanyahu’s remarks injected an explosive new accusation into the already bitter debate over the failures and unanswered questions surrounding October 7 — specifically questioning how Golan was apparently prepared that morning while, according to her account, the prime minister had not yet been informed.
